Prison of Words

A place of reason that lets go of any season
To be sound in thought and bound in time
Not in the space travelling the infinite
But eternal in the moment that is now

Knowing that I may be carried astray
By chains unknown to me to be thrown away
Yet what can’t be known of can’t be accepted
To then be seen for what it is to be then rejected

For the walls and cages are no longer of steel and stone
But of words and memories long gone
What within us should be guiding as in their way
But instead can make us live a life of dismay

In our view of a world without sight or clear meaning
