Mast Away
The waves have once more abated, their calmness saturating
How unreal it is to see them now as so
When the storm had turned them into ungodly beasts
Their bodies like iron, their mouths as their peaks
To venture in this world between the sky and the sea
Governed by the sun by day and the stars when the crew sleeps
As I follow the spirit of the journey that lays before me
I can only look ahead for the port that my eyes can now see
A refuge from the swaying waters, a home for a sea dweller
Where the wine tastes like roses, the people all relatives
Yet as the shore welcomes wave after wave, I remember
That my time in the port is not forever
Because a ship is made for the seas, and not for safe comfort
