Healing

Healing

Here amidst the clouds and far from my town
Where the cold and the summit are as if my own
As if the lessons of the past become little and gone
The passage up the mountain being done alone

For at times we do not know how to tell about our journey
That the words of a countryman might yield no honey
But at times it is what is needed for one to remember
What was once lost but it is burried, yet still there

So a song for the gentleman can be of riches and prizes
But his heart would wait for when the song seizes
For a moment of melanchony is a moment untold
That its memory can at last be let to unfold

In the meanings of the treasure of gold

Shades

Shades

Listening to the tides of time as they eb and flow
With shells from the sea as they come to rest and grow
It is perhaps right to see the world as more of a race
Each shell devouring another to be the kings of some place

Unbeknownst to them that this world is among the stars
Where we each play a small role yet still stellar
To be what nature defined our lives to definitely be
And many are not given the chance for them to see

Living amongst many whose toils go on to fight
Each running after their shadows towards the light
Attracted by the imagination that calls forth their pride
Yet it is a game that settles for most but is a choice never mine

As I wander here as travellers pass by

earthly meadow

Earthly Meadow

Small flames dancing in the windy meadow graze
Like tongues of fire, set alight by a providential haze
Waiting for the bees to come to pollinate with their seeds
Or to merely be themselves in the grand scheme of things

How often do we let our present pass in our escaping?
For it is now and here, while our minds are elsewhere
To be aflamed by what is in front of us is incredible
But few seem to notice enough of this moment immeasurable

For this instant is singular and it will not be again
Yet we seem to run on in all directions lest the important one
Do not be held by the past or afraid of the future
Who you are now is incredible, a flame of the universe

As we dance in the winds of change

Guided Gifts

A battle to and fro across the world at war
Guided along by our own senseless stupor
Why have we taken this route in our lives?
Do we not see how in this way nothing survives?

For God gave us gifts that at times feel magnificent
Only if taken on their own they are maleficent
To keep God close at heart would keep pride at bay
If not then we are driven by illusions to one’s own insanity

As it is not the little that cast us in a mental prison
But the invisible that can become a good will’s arson
One must listen to the God within us and that in others
So as to live in a world without foregone wonder

And not be encaged by our own unguided judgement
