The Sky Window
Breath, a heart beat, my soul sways with you
In this cold moment where my body doesn’t see through
The world is bleak and uncomfortable
I was told the skies were blue, but its not true
They shine bright red in the morning storm gaze
And thunders in shrouds of black and grey
With lightning that brightens the night’s opal jade
Leaving behind the pink traces as the storm abates
And I remain here ever the same
Even when the storm has cleaned and clamoured its name
I feel that the smallest change is a reason to again be afraid
In this valley that is without the sun for it to give me aid
As I drown in my tears as they mimic the rain
