Waves of Time
Transfixed by the gaze of every wave coming in
A rhythm that time hasn’t swayed it still
How many have been here to witness your spell?
Under the watchful eye of an ocean turned magician?
Perhaps a soldier staring in the distance for an enemy
Maybe a composer being inspired the water wavering
Or two lovers suspended in awe at its great magnificence
The sea is simple in itself as it does its magic
In time and in due course we learnt to be more civilized
But little do we know that civilisations are like ocean tides
They eb and flow like sunset and sunrise
Yet here we are together, my moonlit shadow and I,
By the waves mesmerized
